Four bins on sloping ground: two Alubert 2-bin boxes in anthracite, offset by one step

This setup shows four bins on a sloping paved surface. What looks like a 4-bin box at first glance is actually two separate Alubert 2-bin garbage bin boxes made of aluminium in anthracite. The two boxes stand right next to each other, with the downhill box one step lower. Each 2-bin box stands level on its own, and the lids close properly.

Why two 2-bin boxes instead of one continuous 4-bin box?

An Alubert 4-bin is a single connected unit with a continuous top and bottom edge. It only compensates for a slope with its height-adjustable feet, so only as far as the adjustment range on the product page allows. Across the length of four compartments, the height difference on this spot is greater than that range. Splitting the row into two 2-bin boxes means each box only has to compensate for the height difference over half the length, and the step between the two boxes takes up the rest.

For four bins in this situation, you therefore order the Alubert 2-bin twice. If the slope is even steeper, you can also set up four separate Alubert 1-bin boxes in steps, each one step lower than the last.

As a rule of thumb:

  • If the height difference across the full length of the box stays within the adjustment range of the feet stated on the product page, a continuous multi-bin box (2, 3 or 4 bins) works.
  • If the height difference is greater than this adjustment range, place several individual modules (1-bin or 2-bin) next to each other in steps.
  • Before ordering, measure the height difference between the left and right end of the spot and compare it with the adjustment range on the product page.

Material, dimensions and ground

The Alubert is made of powder-coated aluminium combined with corrosion-resistant stainless steel (A2) and galvanised steel, and does not rust. The sloped lid lets rainwater run off. According to the product page, an Alubert 2-bin is 139.5 cm wide and 80 cm deep, so two side by side need almost 2.8 m. Concrete slabs or paved surfaces are suitable as ground; soil, gravel or chippings are not recommended according to the product page.
