6 boxes garbage bin box for 240 l and 120 l bins - four models from BIO Stefan
With a 6 boxes garbage bin box, you can store six garbage bins, such as residual waste, organic waste, paper, yellow bags, glass and a spare bin, behind a single, visually calm front. BIO Stefan offers four models: Dagobert (galvanized steel, compact), Alubert (aluminum, lightweight), Stahlfred (hot-dip galvanized steel) and Holzmichl (steel with a genuine wood front). Dagobert, Stahlfred and Holzmichl are available in separate sizes for 240 l and 120 l bins. Alubert comes in one size that accommodates both 120 l and 240 l bins. All four models are lockable and modular.
Anthracite (RAL 7016) is BIO Stefan's most affordable standard color and is available for all four models; additional RAL shades can be configured as optional upgrades depending on the model. The products are delivered disassembled as a flat pack; Stahlfred and Holzmichl are shipped on a pallet by freight carrier.

Robust, weather-resistant, and durable - the benefits at a glance
Sturdy steel body: With Dagobert, Stahlfred and Holzmichl, hot-dip galvanizing plus coating provide high corrosion and UV protection. The Dagobert body is hot-dip galvanized with Z225 and features a 35 μm organic coating, tested according to RC4/RUV4 in compliance with EN 10169-2021.
Real wood instead of foil (Holzmichl): Spruce wood boards are set in the powder-coated steel frame and can be individually painted or oiled.
Lightweight aluminum construction (Alubert): Powder-coated aluminum plus A2 stainless steel are rustproof, and the complete 6 boxes set weighs only around 97 kg.
Lockable: Central locking with a lock for the lid and door on Stahlfred and Holzmichl, a locking mechanism in the handle on Alubert, and a rotary latch with optional key lock on Dagobert.
Height-adjustable feet: Alubert compensates for 10 to 75 mm, while Stahlfred and Holzmichl compensate for 15 to 60 mm. This ensures that a row measuring more than four meters remains properly aligned even on paving or along a lawn edge. Dagobert requires a reasonably level surface.
Soft opening: On Dagobert, Stahlfred and Holzmichl, the hinged lid opens gently via gas struts instead of slamming shut. The Dagobert lid can also be mounted on either side, and the door hinge can be positioned on the left or right.
Flat-pack delivery: All models are delivered disassembled as a flat pack, with Stahlfred and Holzmichl shipped on a pallet by a freight carrier. The locking mechanism is included with Stahlfred and Holzmichl.
Modular design: Each model consists of a starter package plus extension packages. An existing row can be extended with additional elements in the same color.
6 boxes garbage bin box made of steel, aluminum, or wood - which model is right?
With six bins, the row is over four meters long, so material and weight become more important than with smaller boxes. Steel is robust, aluminum is lightweight and rust-free, while wood is warm and natural.
Steel models such as Dagobert or Stahlfred are the lowest-maintenance options and are well suited to multi-unit buildings where six bins are needed. Alubert, made of aluminum, weighs around 97 kg for the complete 6 boxes set, making it by far the lightest model, and combines aluminum with corrosion-resistant A2 stainless steel for excellent weather resistance. Holzmichl combines the stability of steel with a real wood front that can be color-coordinated with your fence, patio, or facade.
Hinged lid or planted roof - which option suits your 6 boxes garbage bin box?
The hinged lid opens with gas struts and is slightly sloped (2.5 degrees for Stahlfred and Holzmichl), so rainwater drains away safely. This roof option is available for all four models.
With the planted roof, a flat planter sits on top instead of the hinged lid: space for succulents, herbs, or summer flowers across the full row length of more than four meters. Dagobert, Stahlfred, and Holzmichl are available with both roof options; an optional drainage system for the planted roof is also available for Dagobert. Alubert uses only the hinged lid.
Does a 6-box garbage bin box require approval?
In Austria and Germany, a garbage bin box is usually exempt from formal approval procedures: it is not considered a structural installation in the traditional sense. The decisive factor is always the specific federal state or municipality. For a 6-box row measuring more than four meters in length, it is worth checking with the local building authority, especially for visible front gardens, multi-unit buildings, or parking spaces in building exclusion zones.
Easy to assemble yourself - Flatpack delivery
All 6-box garbage bin boxes are delivered disassembled as a flatpack; Stahlfred and Holzmichl models are shipped on a pallet by freight carrier. Each model consists of a starter package and several extension packages; depending on the model, the heaviest individual package weighs between 22 and 50 kg. With Stahlfred and Holzmichl, the box can be anchored to the ground through pre-drilled holes in the base rails. With Stahlfred and Holzmichl, the locking mechanism is included in the delivery; with Dagobert, the toggle lock is standard, and a key lock is available as an optional extra.

Mix 120 l and 240 l bins in one row
If you combine small 120 l and large 240 l bins in one row, such as a small organic waste bin next to large residual waste and paper bins, BIO Stefan offers dedicated combination models for mixed 120 l and 240 l rows. If five spaces are enough for you, take a look at the slightly more compact 5 boxes for waste bins.
FAQ for the 6 boxes garbage bin box
Frequently asked questions about the garbage bin box 6 boxesDagobert, Stahlfred and Holzmichl each come in a dedicated size for 240 l or 120 l bins. The Alubert comes in a single size that takes both 120 l and 240 l bins. With the dedicated combination models you can mix 120 l and 240 l in the same row. The exact inner dimensions per compartment are on the respective product page.
Depending on the model, the 6-bin store for 240 l bins is 417 to 444 cm wide, 80 to 83 cm deep and 118 to 126.5 cm high. Dagobert is the most compact version at 417 cm, Stahlfred and Holzmichl are the widest at 444 cm. For 120 l bins the width is between 354 cm (Dagobert) and 384 cm (Stahlfred, Holzmichl).
A load-bearing, as level as possible surface such as paving, concrete or compacted gravel is ideal. With a row of more than four metres, unevenness is more noticeable than with small boxes: Alubert compensates 10 to 75 mm with height-adjustable feet, Stahlfred and Holzmichl 15 to 60 mm. The Dagobert has no height-adjustable feet, so the surface should be as level as possible, but a slight slope is not a problem.
Yes. Stahlfred and Holzmichl have central locking with a lock that secures lid and door together. On the Alubert, the locking mechanism is integrated in the handle. The Dagobert comes as standard with a toggle latch on lids and doors; a key lock is available as an option.
Yes. A 6-bin store is a closed bin enclosure for six bins: it hides general waste, organic, paper, recycling, glass and a spare bin behind a uniform front and also protects against wind, sun and curious animals. Unlike an open bin shelter, lids and doors are lockable. The base is open on all four models.
The hinged lid is available on all four models and is the lowest-maintenance option. A green roof is available for Dagobert, Stahlfred and Holzmichl: it turns the more than four-metre-long 6-bin row into a continuous planting strip, but needs occasional watering. For the Dagobert, a drainage system for the green roof is also available as an option.
Anthracite (RAL 7016) is the lowest-priced standard colour and is available for all four models. The Dagobert 6-bin can also be configured in further RAL shades and with a wood-look front, the Alubert 6-bin in anthracite, black and grey aluminium; further special colours are possible with a longer delivery time. Which colour and roof combinations can currently be ordered is shown directly in the selection on the product page.
All four models are built modularly from a starter pack plus add-on packs. An existing row can be extended in the same colour with further add-on units. Plan for the extra space: each additional compartment makes the row around 60 to 75 cm longer, depending on the model and bin size.
Clean powder-coated and coated surfaces with lukewarm water and a soft sponge. The Holzmichl spruce front can optionally be treated with stain or oil. Latches and hinges are galvanised.
Caring for your 6 boxes garbage bin box
Steel and aluminum models are largely maintenance-free. Clean coated surfaces as needed with lukewarm water, a soft sponge, and a mild cleaner. For the Holzmichl front, you can treat the spruce wood boards with a transparent wood stain or wood oil; this is not necessary, it is a matter of style.
